Cranberry Sauce


16oz. package of Cranberries

1c Water

2c Sugar

1c Golden Rasins (NOT dark rasins or it will come out like mince meat)

2T Lemon Juice

1 1/2 tsp. lemon peel

(optional 2 tsp. orange peel)

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. ground clove

1/3 c. chopped walnuts


  1. In 2 1/2 qt. sauce pan combine all ingredients above except walnuts.

  2. Bring to a rolling boil over med/high heat stirring constantly

  3. Reduce heat, simmer uncovered stirring occasionally 30 more min or until cranberries pop and sauce thickens.

  4. Add walnuts

  5. Serve warm or cold.

Yield ~ 3 c.


If you want to thicken the sauce for a mold, substitute 1 cup of water with 1c. water with 1/4c unflavored gelatin dissolved.
