Kathy Perkin's Granola

  • 2 1/2 cups rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds or other nuts

  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds (optional)

  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

  • 1/2 cup wheat germ

  • 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk powder

  • 1/2 cup oat flour

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1/2 raisins

In a large bowl combine rolled oats, almonds, sunflower seeds, coconut, wheat germ, milk powder, oat flour - mix well.

Combine oil and honey and pour over dry ingredients. mix well. (Don' t add raisins until after cooking)

Place in a large roasting pan (14 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 2") and bake at 250º for 1 hour or slightly brown.

Stir twice during baking period.

Remove from oven stir in raisins and allow to cool.

Store in airtight container until ready to use.

Yield: 5 1/2 cups
