Jordan Marsh Blueberry Muffins

In the days when department stores had bakeries, the blueberry muffins made at Jordan's were a required purchase. Although we needed no coaxing, I fondly remember tasting the samples they would put on the counter to entice a purchase.

1/2 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

2/3 cup milk

2 cups flour

4 tsp. baking powder

11/4 cup blueberries

Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs, flour, baking powder, and milk. Dredge berries in flour to prevent sinking before adding to wet mixture. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Sprinkle a little sugar on tops when you take them out of the oven.
